A clash between Olympiacos and Monaco has become a classic. And tonight, like in last year’s Final Four, the victory was for the Monégasque team.

Both teams are now tied in a 4-3 balance after AS Monaco defeated Olympiacos 92-87.

Alpha Diallo (27 points) and Mike James (23 points and 10 assists) shone in Spanoulis’ team, who once again defeated the team of his heart.

“It’s not easy for me to play here, I am very competitive and I have spent a lot of great years here”, admitted coach Vassilis Spanoulis, an Olympiacos legend, who beat the Greeks again.

Tyler Dorsey had a superb game, finishing with 23 points. Milutinov (14 points and 8 rebounds) and Vezenkov (17 points and 6 rebounds) also stood up, but the home team was missing the contribution of a lot of its key players.

It was a very tight game, with the two teams exchanging the lead back and forth.

But after the break, Monaco got a ten-point lead (64-54) that was decisive.

Ever since that moment, the away team got control of the game and never trailed, despite Olympiacos having a chance to get very close.

With 87-84 on the scoreboard and less than 30 seconds to play, Ward had the chance to tie it for Olympiacos, but he missed his three-pointer and left Olympiacos with no chance to win the game, as Monaco managed to seal the deal with ease.
