Crvena Zvezda continued their winning streak and recorded their seventh EuroLeague victory, defeating Panathinaikos at home with a score of 86-68.
After the match, Ergin Ataman appeared at the press conference and was asked about TJ Shorts’ weaker performances, as well as potential rumors about a loan move to one of the Belgrade clubs.
“I don’t know, but for now, I am 90% not happy with his performances on the team. Maybe it’s our fault, maybe it’s his fault, but the reality is that we haven’t had the performance we were waiting for from him. As for the rumors, I know nothing.”
Ataman also admitted the obvious, that his team is on the market for a center, and this time he didn’t sound too optimistic about injured Mathias Lessort’s return to action: “We are on the market for a big man who can help us because it’s not clear when Lessort will return”.
At the beginning of the conference, the Turkish coach also made journalists laugh by congratulating Olympiacos on their victory, alluding to the support of Crvena Zvezda’s fans.
“Congratulations to Olympiacos… I apologize to Zvezda. All the fans were supporting Olympiacos tonight, so I got confused.”
After nine rounds, Panathinaikos has five wins and four losses, while Crvena Zvezda stands at 7-2.
