Monaco claimed victory in the ninth round of the EuroLeague, defeating Maccabi as the away team in Belgrade after overtime with a score of 112-107.

Mike James once again showed why he is one of the best players in the EuroLeague. American guard recorded 34 points (9/19 shooting and 12/16 from the free-throw line), along with seven assists and six rebounds. Ellie Okobo had 16 points and seven assists, while Daniel Theis and Jaron Blossomgame each added 15 points.

For Maccabi, Lonnie Walker scored 19 points, T.J. Leaf added 18 and Jaylen Hoard had 16 points and ten rebounds.

It was a very efficient and tense duel in Belgrade, with the decision coming only in overtime. Oded Kattash’s team had the lead going into the final ten minutes, but the visitors completely turned the result around, led by Mike James. Still, Maccabi fought back, and with free throws by Jimmy Clark, they forced overtime after James missed a potential game-winner.

However, the guests played better in the closing moments and managed to take the points from Belgrade after a dramatic finish.

Monaco secured their third consecutive win and now sit fourth in the EuroLeague standings with a 6-3 record. In the next round, they face another away game in Belgrade, this time against Partizan.

On the other hand, Maccabi has two wins and seven losses, sharing the bottom of the table with ASVEL. The Israelis face a tough away game against Fenerbahce next.
