Zalgiris recorded a victory in the ninth round of the EuroLeague, defeating Valencia in Kaunas with a score of 86-77.

Sylvain Francisco, October’s MVP, was not at his best for most of the match, but he came alive in the final moments and helped his team secure the win.

He finished with 15 points and seven assists, while Maodo Lo had 12 points. Azuolas Tubelis also had 11 points and eight rebounds, and Moses Wright recorded a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds.

For the visitors, Jaime Pradilla scored 15 points, one more than Kameron Taylor.

It was a true thriller in Lithuania, with most of the match played basket-for-basket. However, Zalgiris handled the finish better, the key moment being a three-pointer from Maodo Lo with 40 seconds left, giving the home team a six-point lead (81-75).

Zalgiris notched their seventh win and now, with a 7-2 record, shares the top spot in the EuroLeague with Crvena Zvezda and Hapoel Tel Aviv. Next, the Lithuanians face Olympiacos in Piraeus.

Valencia has five wins and four losses, and in the next round will play at home against Real Madrid.
