Kenneth Faried posted a double-double in his first appearance with Panathinaikos Aktor, shortly after inking a short-term contract with the Greek club.
In Accor Arena, his side took down Paris in Round 10 of the 2025-26 EuroLeague Regular Season.
“Yeah, I am satisfied. I don’t really care about my stats. It’s not a big deal. But we got the win. That’s all I care about,” he mentioned in a postgame interview, after putting up 17 points, ten rebounds, three blocks, one steal, and one assist on Tuesday evening.
“They are a resilient team, Paris. They have no quit in them. They keep pressuring you, and they keep trying to score fast, and they were able to score a bunch of that in some points during the game. But we finally settled down and figured out how to stop them, and we were able to escape with a win,” he continued, recapping the triumph in the French capital.
In a quick turnaround to the bottom half of a two-game week in Europe’s premier club continental competition, Faried and his new teammates take on Real Madrid in Movistar Arena on Thursday.
“We are going to Madrid with our confidence high. I feel like I can play at this level now, especially performing like I did tonight,” noted the 35-year-old big.
Furthermore, head coach Ergin Ataman praised the contribution of Faried after only one team practice.
“In basketball, you want a real center to protect in the paint. So, tonight, he helped us greatly. Also, offensively, you need better spacing. When he played, he made pick-and-rolls, and we found better spacing. So, he was what we were missing in the last two or three games,” explained the 59-year-old Turkish tactician.
