Fenerbahce Beko announced a two-year contract extension with general manager Derya Yannier on Thursday.

The 40-year-old Turkish executive joined Fener as the assistant GM before the 2021-22 season and was promoted to GM, succeeding Maurizio Gherardini, before the 2022-23 season. Following a Turkish Airlines EuroLeague championship to highlight the previous season, he was selected as the winner of the 2024–25 Gianluigi Porelli EuroLeague Executive of the Year award.

Beyond the second continental title in team history, the tenure of the former player has been attached to two Turkiye Sigorta Basketbol Super Ligi championships, two ING Turkiye Kupasi championships, and one Presidential Cup championship, including the most recent titles across the three domestic competitions.

Rebuilding the roster in a busy offseason, featuring the departure of last year’s Final Four MVP, Nigel Hayes-Davis, alongside Marko Guduric, Dyshawn Pierre, Errick McCollum, and Sertac Sanli, currently combines with a 6-5 record in the 2025-26 EuroLeague Regular Season and a 7-1 tally in the BSL Regular Season. From summer arrivals in Talen Horton-Tucker, Armando Bacot, Brandon Boston Jr., and Mikael Jantunen, Yannier is constantly scanning the market to potentially further strengthen the team coached by Sarunas Jasikevicius.

Up next on the schedule of the Istanbul outfit are EuroLeague Round 12 and BSL Round 9, opposite Partizan Mozzart Bet in Belgrade Arena on Friday and Bursaspor in Ulker Sports Arena on Sunday. From there to a home game versus Virtus Bologna in EuroLeague Round 13 on Tuesday, before an international break.
