Nico Mannion is set for further medical evaluation over the next few days and will eventually return to action with a face mask.
EA7 Emporio Armani Milan officially added him to a crowded injury list on Thursday.
Per the press release: “Nico Mannion reported a fracture of his nasal bones during a practice session. He will undergo further diagnostic tests in the coming days to determine his return to the basketball activity with a protective mask, Olimpia Milan announced today.”
Therefore, the 24-year-old point guard will sit out Round 14 of the 2025-26 EuroLeague Regular Season. Looking to improve a current 7-6 tally, the team coached by Peppe Poeta visits Kosner Baskonia in Fernando Buesa Arena on Friday.
A veteran of 30 NBA games with the Golden State Warriors and former 7DAYS EuroCup champion with Virtus Segafredo Bologna, Mannion has 4.5 points, 2.0 assists, and 0.5 rebounds per contest over 11 appearances in the ongoing edition of Europe’s premier club competition.
Meanwhile, 25-year-old Ousmane Diop, who was already sidelined, underwent right knee arthroscopic surgery. So far in his second EuroLeague journey, he has been limited to two appearances, averaging 1.0 points, 1.0 rebounds, 0.5 blocks, and 0.5 assists per game.
Per the press release: “Ousmane Diop has undergone arthroscopic surgery to “clean up” his right knee. He will resume his rehabilitation in the coming days, Olimpia Milan announced today.”
Marko Guduric (rest), Diego Flaccadori (chest), Lorenzo Brown (calf), and Nate Sestina (right arm surgery) are out for the upcoming continental challenge as well. In contrast, all Baskonia players are expected to be available for head coach Paolo Galbiati.
