Stefano Tonut has been sidelined indefinitely by EA7 Emporio Armani Milan.

The EuroLeague outfit updated the status of the 32-year-old combo guard on Friday.

Per the press release: “Due to an acute viral infection, Stefano Tonut will need a period of complete rest: the date of his return to the activity is not yet identifiable, Olimpia Milan announced today.”

Tonut was out in Round 15 of the 2025-26 EuroLeague Regular Season on Thursday, alongside Lorenzo Brown (shoulder), Ousmane Diop (right knee surgery), Diego Flaccadori (cardiology procedure), Nico Mannion (nose fracture), Nate Sestina (right arm surgery), and Leonardo Tote (back). Also, Leandro Bolmaro was forced to an early exit due to a groin injury in the fourth quarter. However, the team coached by Peppe Poeta prevailed over Panathinaikos Aktor in Unipol Forum.

The native of Como previously made his way to four games in the ongoing edition of Europe’s premier club competition, tallying 1.8 points, 1.0 rebounds, 1.0 steals, and 0.8 assists per contest. In total, he has played 84 EuroLeague games, all with Milan over the last four years. Over nine games this season in Italy’s LBA UnipolSai Regular Season, he added 2.8 points and 3.3 rebounds per contest.

Jumping to 8-7 with the home win opposite the Greens, the Italian club sits 11th on the EuroLeague standings, one game outside the Play-In Showdown zone and 2.5 games away from first place. At a 6-4 domestic record, the distance from the top of the standings is three games, with a home meeting versus co-leader Virtus Olidata Bologna coming up on Sunday.
