Sarunas Jasikevicius discussed several topics following a losing effort for Fenerbahce Beko opposite Panathinaikos Aktor, but avoided a specific reaction to a couple of unsportsmanlike fouls issued on both teams down the stretch of Tuesday’s matchup.

“EuroLeague has certain rules. Of course, I’m not going to talk about the referees here. And with Christmas approaching, I’d rather spend my money on gifts for my children. As I said, the EuroLeague has rules, and we have to follow them. Once things calm down a bit, we will communicate through official channels,” the 49-year-old Lithuanian play-caller mentioned in the postgame press conference.

“The reason for the turnovers was probably that our minds were not very fresh. Our morning shootaround was not very good either. Of course, we’ve played a lot of tough games in the last five days, so it was obvious why our minds were not fresh. We did not play our best game,” he recapped Round 16 of the 2025-26 EuroLeague Regular Season, referring to 22 turnovers committed by Fener.

Before tipoff in Istanbul’s Ulker Sports Arena, the Istanbul outfit celebrated the contributions of Ibrahim Kutluay with a jersey retirement ceremony.

“Whenever I faced him, I would kick his butt,” Saras jokingly commented. “He is a very dear friend of mine. I am very happy for him, and he is also a huge Fenerbahce fan.”

After falling to 9-6, his side is set to complete the latest two-game week on the continental schedule opposite EA7 Emporio Armani Milan in Allianz Cloud on Thursday.
