Olympiakos secured a win in the 18th round of the EuroLeague by defeating Virtus in Bologna, with a score of 97-94.

The decision came in the final moments when Alec Peters scored two free throws after Olympiakos maybe committed a five-second violation. Virtus had a chance to tie the game, but Derrick Alston missed a three-pointer for overtime.

It seemed Olympiakos would easily cruise to victory when they entered the last minute of the third quarter with a 20-point lead (77-57).

However, Virtus didn’t give up, gradually closing the gap on the wings of Vildoza and Morgan, coming within just two points with two minutes remaining (88-90). Then Fournier made his seventh three-pointer, stopping the home team’s momentum, and the Greeks secured the win in the free-throw finish as described.

Tyler Dorsey scored 23 points, Evan Fournier 21, and Sasha Vezenkov 16. Nikola Milutinov and Alec Peters were also excellent with 13 points each. Notably, Monte Morris made his debut for Olympiacos in the EuroLeague, and the team from Piraeus played without Shaquille McKissic, Tyson Ward, and Moustapha Fall.

On the other side, Luka Vildoza scored 17 points, Matt Morgan added 15, while Carsen Edwards finished the game with 14, but he left early due to an ankle issue.

Olympiakos is now 10-7, and in the next round, they will face Panathinaikos away. On the other hand, Virtus, after their second consecutive loss, stands at 8-10 and will play against Olimpia Milano at the start of 2026.
