Saben Lee is returning to Turkey, leaving Olympiacos for Anadolu Efes, per sources.
The Turkish team is expected to cover the remainder of the contract for the 26-year-old guard until the end of the season.
Efes was already in contact with Olympiacos about getting Lee; however, talks stalled because of the decision for the coaching change from Igor Kokoskov to Pablo Laso, who also gave his blessing for the move to be completed.
Lee was never able to adapt to Olympiacos’ demands as a point guard, and after the acquisition of Monte Morris, his role in the rotation is totally complementary, making the move a win-win situation for everyone involved.
This season, Lee averaged 3.4 points and 1.4 assists in 11 EuroLeague games.
