Zalgiris secured a significant victory in the 19th round of the EuroLeague, defeating Hapoel from Tel Aviv on the road with a score of 93-80.
Five players from the visiting team scored in double figures, with Nigel Williams-Goss and Moses Wright leading the way with 15 points each. Azuolas Tubelis had 12 points and eight rebounds, while Sylvain Francisco contributed with 13 points and eight assists.
On the other side, Chris Jones was the top scorer with 18 points, while Elijah Bryant added 14.
The home team, playing this time in Jerusalem, started the match strongly and reached a double-digit lead by the end of the first quarter (25-13). However, Thomas Masiulis’ team made a comeback by halftime (40-39) and gained the lead after a great start to the second half.
Hapoel could not recover by the end, despite Bryant’s late efforts, and the Lithuanians ended 2025 with a win.
Hapoel now has a record of 13-6 and will host Dubai in the next round. Meanwhile, Žalgiris stands at 11-8 and will open the new year with a match against Virtus in Bologna.
