It was a thrilling match in Spain, where both teams were tied through the first three quarters, with high scoring on both sides. Neither team managed a double-digit lead until the middle of the third quarter, when Baskonia took a 77-67 advantage. However, that’s when the Spaniards began to falter.
Fenerbahce turned things around with a run at the end of the third quarter (82-85), then pulled away to a double-digit lead with a series of threes at the start of the fourth (87-99). After that, there was no comeback for Baskonia, and the Turks finished with a convincing triumph.
With their third straight win, Fenerbahce improved to 12-6, and they’ll face Olympiacos in Istanbul next. Baskonia remains at 6-13, tied with four other teams, and they’ll play Bayern Munich in four days.
