Virtus Bologna got a close win over Zalgiris Kaunas, however the Lithuania side filed a protest for the result.
The decision came from Tomas Masiulis 1:17 left in the game and the explanation was that the presence of Virtus ball boys obstructed two fast breaks of his team.
As Masiulis explained post game: “I filed a protest because we went on two fastbreaks, but the ball boys were there, and we lost the ball. In my opinion, the referees should have stopped the game. The referees will decide.”
The two ball boys who were mopping the floor were wearing white, the same color that Zalgiris used in the game for their jerseys, creating confusion since they were on the court with the game going on.
