The final game of Round 20 of the competition was a matchup between two teams from the lower part of the standings.

And the clash between the German and Spanish sides ended with a home victory thanks to Andreas Obst.

Bayern Munich defeated Baskonia 96-89 to improve its record to 7-13. The team from Vitoria now drops to 6-14.

Obst finished the night with a career night, scoring 37 points, making seven out of 11 three-pointers, and finishing with a performance index rating of 38, all career highs for him in the EuroLeague. Justinian Jessup also enjoyed the best game of his career, scoring 17 points.

With Baskonia missing key perimeter players, as neither Markus Howard nor Timothée Luwawu-Cabarrot featured in the game, Matteo Spagnolo stepped up and shone brilliantly, recording 20 points and a PIR of 28.

The home win was built on a strong second half, as the first 20 minutes ended with Galbiati’s team leading 38-46.

The visitors maintained their advantage in the third quarter (60-69), but everything changed in the final period.

In the blink of an eye, the score swung from 60-74 to 84-80, a decisive 24-6 run that allowed the German side to close out the game with ease.
