Restoring a double-digit advantage in the third quarter, Panathinaikos went on to take down Virtus Bologna, 84-71, in Telekom Center Athens on Thursday.

Prevailing in Round 21 of the 2025-26 EuroLeague Regular Season snapped a two-game losing streak and improved the W-L tally to 13-8, with a seventh win in 11 home affairs. The team coached by Ergin Ataman went up by 12 points in the first half but held off several comeback bids and put the game away after the break, setting up a safe distance through the fourth period.

Tucking in 2/4 triples, including a key buzzer-beater to shape a six-point cushion at the end of the first half, Kendrick Nunn finished with a team-high 21 points, besides extending his three-pointer streak to 16 showings in Europe’s premier club continental competition. “I think my focus was just defensively,” said the 30-year-old guard, describing his approach. “Just bringing a little bit more effort on the defensive end for 40 minutes, and that’s what I did. It helped us.”

“I feel like it’s coming together. I got to keep putting good games together,” mentioned Richaun Holmes, after combining trademark energy with 16 points, nine rebounds, two blocks, and one assist. Cedi Osman chipped in 11 more points, and Juancho Hernangomez piled up nine points, eight rebounds, three steals, and one assist.

For the team coached by former Panathinaikos boss Dusko Ivanovic, falling to 10-11 with a ninth loss across 11 road contests, Carsen Edwards logged a game-high 24 points. “We didn’t play good, especially in the second half,” recapped 68-year-old Ivanovic.

In addition to Luca Vildoza (left thigh), Aliou Diarra (left ankle) remained sidelined, and recent signing Francesco Ferrari was a healthy scratch for the reigning champions in Italy’s LBA UnipolSai. Besides Mathias Lessort (left ankle) and Konstantinos Mitoglou (right hamstring) on the injury list, Marius Grigonis and Vassilis Toliopoulos were left out of the lineup by the Greens.

Resuming the domestic schedule and aiming to reach 12-1 in Greece’s Stoiximan GBL Regular Season, Panathinaikos welcomes Peristeri Betsson in Athens on Sunday. In EuroLeague’s Round 22, they will face FC Bayern Munich in SAP Garden next Thursday.

The Italian side is heading to Round 15 of the domestic league on Sunday, against Umana Reyer Venice in Palasport Taliercio, carrying a league-high 12-2 record. The next continental challenge is scheduled for Thursday at Coca-Cola Arena, opposite Dubai.
