Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz secured the win at home in a thrilling end against LDLC ASVEL.
The final score was 78-73, as coach Paolo Galbiati’s unit continued to fight in the Euroleague, having a 7-14 record, with all wins registered at home.
Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot (21 p.) was Baskonia’s top scorer. Trent Forrest added 11, while Markus Howard did not play against the French squad.
In ASVEL, Bastien Vautier (14 p.) and newcomer Paul Eboua (12 p.) were the top scorers, but couldn’t save the day as their team dropped to 6-15.
Baskonia controlled the first half. ASVEL couldn’t keep the pace in the second quarter, and behind Luwawu-Cabarrot’s effort, the Spanish team got a nine-point advantage (44-34).
ASVEL reacted in the third quarter and even got a 59-58 lead, but couldn’t complete the comeback to get its first road win in the Euroleague since January 2025.
Baskonia took things back under control in a close contest, entering the last two minutes with a five-point cushion (73-68), keeping its distance with ASVEL until the final buzzer.
