With Partizan Mozzart Bet constantly dealing with adversity over recent weeks, including several injuries and six consecutive losses in the 2025-26 EuroLeague Regular Season, Shake Milton has been sidelined due to a fractured bone in his left hand.
The Belgrade outfit provided an update, following Round 14 of the AdmiralBet ABA League Regular Season and the setback for the 29-year-old combo guard in Podgorica’s Moraca Sports Center opposite SC Derby.
Milton is expected to be on the injury report for an extended period, as officially projected by Partizan and head coach Joan Penarroya.
“We needed a victory after a difficult week and two demanding road games in the EuroLeague,” noted 56-year-old Penarroya, referring to the continental losses against AS Monaco on Tuesday and FC Barcelona on Friday, before taking down Derby on Sunday.
“We didn’t play a good game. It is clear that we were not at the required level and that we did not play hard enough. We looked good in certain stretches, but that is not enough. However, in the end, the most important thing is that we won. Unfortunately, we had more bad news again. Shake Milton broke his left hand, which will be a significant problem for us in the coming period,” continued the Partizan play-caller.
The medical staff will soon decide on treatment for the former NBA player to start the recovery process as soon as possible.
Milton, a former Southern Methodist standout, played in 399 NBA games since being drafted 54th overall in 2018. Using overseas options and signing with the Serbian club, he averaged 6.7 points, 3.1 assists, 1.7 rebounds, 0.7 steals, and 0.1 blocks per game over 13 EuroLeague appearances, including six starts. At the regional level, he has 10.3 points, 3.0 assists, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per ABA contest in six games.
With Arijan Lakic returning to action, Isaac Bonga, Jabari Parker, and Miikka Muurinen were left out of the lineup for Sunday’s game. Mitar Bosnjakovic (ankle), Carlik Jones (foot), and Mario Nakic (knee) remained sidelined.
Moving to Round 22 of the EuroLeague, Partizan takes on Olympiacos in Aleksandar Nikolic Hall on Wednesday, and visits Igokea m:tel in a postponed ABA Round 7 contest on Friday.
A 6-15 tally is five games away from the EuroLeague’s Play-In Showdown zone, and tied with two more times in last place of the standings. Meanwhile, the 23 points behind an 11-1 ABA run currently edges out Dubai’s 22 points on a perfect 11-0 record.
