Panathinaikos likely without Nunn against ASVEL, Holmes also questionable

Panathinaikos held its final practice session ahead of Thursday’s EuroLeague Round 25 matchup against ASVEL Villeurbanne in Lyon, with a mix of encouraging and concerning updates.

The Greens (14–10) are aiming to bounce back in the EuroLeague and begin building a winning streak that would lift them back toward the top of the standings. On paper, the game against bottom-placed ASVEL (6–18) presents a good opportunity — but roster issues persist.

The biggest concern surrounds Kendrick Nunn. The 30-year-old American guard is still recovering from a left ankle injury sustained on January 13. He followed an individual workout on Wednesday and is considered unlikely to travel with the team to Lyon.

Nunn is Panathinaikos’ leading scorer, averaging 19.4 points, along with 3.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.0 steal, and 2.9 turnovers in nearly 30 minutes per game. Without him, Panathinaikos holds a 1–2 record.

Richaun Holmes is also listed as doubtful. The 32-year-old American center missed practice due to stomach issues. Holmes (9.8 points, 5.0 rebounds) has been one of Panathinaikos’ most consistent performers since the start of 2026.

On a positive note, Omer Yurtseven has recovered from a recent illness and trained normally. Cedi Osman and Dinos Mitoglou had already returned to full practice earlier in the week.

Panathinaikos will now await final decisions on Nunn and Holmes ahead of the trip to France.
