It was a big night at the Roig Arena, where Valencia Basket fans were able to enjoy a victory by their team.
The taronja defeated Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv 94–83 to improve their record to 16–9 and rejoin the group chasing the top of the standings. The Israeli side, meanwhile, drops to 10–15.
Neal Sako arguably had his best game as a Valencia Basket player, finishing with 12 points and 8 rebounds, although the team’s leading scorer was Jean Montero with 19 points, well supported by Kam Taylor, who added 17.
For the visitors, TJ Leaf (14 points), Jimmy Clark and Iffe Lundberg, with 12 points apiece, were the only players to score in double figures.
Despite trailing at halftime (35–47), the home side never lost their composure.
The start of the second half was very promising for Pedro Martínez’s team, who quickly managed to turn the score around (51–50).
From that point on, Valencia Basket took full advantage of their positive momentum, even building a double-digit lead (91–81), which allowed them to play out the final moments with great confidence.
