Olimpia Milano got back on the winning track by defeating Partizan Belgrade at Allianz Cloud in EuroLeague Round 25.
After the game, coach Peppe Poeta addressed the issue of Lorenzo Brown, who did not play, and confirmed that the experienced US point guard is on his way out of the team.
“Together with the club, we have decided that he is out of the project. We are as vigilant as ever on the market, but having only one registration available makes us weigh our choices very carefully,” Poeta said at the press conference after the game.
Brown joined Olimpia Milano last summer after an unsuccessful stint with Panathinaikos but struggled with injuries. In 12 EuroLeague appearances with the Italian powerhouse, he averaged just 5.8 points and 2.7 assists.
Coach Poeta also commented on Leandro Bolmaro suffering an injury against Partizan.
“Say a prayer for me,” Poeta said after the match. “With Bolmaro, we have an incredible record; without him, it’s a completely different story. He’s too important for us because of defensive skills that no one else on this team has. This could accelerate the market if it’s something serious, but he’s in capable hands.”
According to Olimpia Milano’s head coach, the Argentinian suffered a “hyperextension in his elbow.”
