Ergin Ataman spoke via a statement on Panathinaikos’ website, ahead of the match against Real Madrid at OAKA on Tuesday (3/2, 20:15 CEST), since there was no Media Day.
Among other things, the Turkish coach of the “Greens” emphasized that Kendrick Nunn will not be able to play in this match either, due to his injury (ed. ankle injury), but explained that with the help of the people, victory will come for the 26th matchday of the Euroleague.
Ataman commented, “We are ready to give another big game against Real Madrid. It is, of course, a very important game, because we are just one win away from our season goal, and we are just one win behind Real, whom we defeated in Madrid. Of course, tomorrow we face some problems again, as Kendrick Nunn will not play. He is one of the key players in our offensive system. However, I believe that with our energy, our defense and the support of all our fans, we will find a way to win the game and reach the position in the standings that we deserve.”
Nunn is one of the best players in the entire Euroleague. The current competition’s MVP is facing some injury troubles in the past few weeks, and won’t be able to play against Scariolo’s team. Real Madrid will try to get a win in OAKA after losing at home in the first leg by 10 points.
