Nigel Hayes-Davis to return to Europe as the highest paid EuroLeague player

By Aris Barkas/ barkas@eurohoops.net

Nigel Hayes-Davis left Europe as the Final Four MVP hoping that he can get a fair chance in the NBA.

That didn’t happen and at this point with him being placed on waivers, returning to Europe is again a valid option on the table but in a very specific context.

Nigel Hayes-Davis left as the MVP and wants to return as the highest paid player in the league with a multiyear deal, setting the bar in the $5,6M annual contract of Vasilije Micic with Hapoel.

Considering that currently Kendrick Nunn is also over the $5M mark, this kind of deal would justify his decision to not try and pursue anymore the NBA dream.

Fenerbahce, Panathinaikos and Hapoel Tel Aviv have already contacted the side of the player and they were informed about his demands, maybe another team will be added in the race, however those three clubs can offer him, at least in theory, the money he wants.

No final decision about his next stop is taken yet and the clock is ticking.
