With Olympiacos taking on Maroussi Chery in the Semifinals of Greece’s Allwyn Final 8 today, Thursday, Monte Morris returns to the lineup for head coach Georgios Bartzokas. The 30-year-old point guard, who joined the Reds in December, has been sidelined since early January with a ligament injury. His return provides a critical boost to the backcourt as the club pursues the 13th Greek Cup in franchise history.

Before his injury, the former Iowa State standout and veteran of 483 NBA games averaged 4.5 points, 2.0 assists, and 1.8 rebounds over six appearances across continental and domestic schedules. Following the first Semifinal between Maroussi and Olympiacos, the bracket concludes its penultimate stage with Iraklis facing Panathinaikos Aktor later this evening in Heraklion.

However, center Tyrique Jones will be sidelined for Olympiacos in the Semifinal after sustaining a knee injury during the quarterfinal victory over AEK. Medical evaluations confirmed tendonitis, and he is currently projected to return for Sunday’s Final should his side advance. Shaquielle McKissic and Tyson Ward are out due to domestic foreign player restrictions, while Tyler Dorsey (personal), Keenan Evans (Achilles), Moustapha Fall (knee), and Cory Joseph (leg) remain unavailable.

Following this midseason Cup campaign, Olympiacos will resume its 2025–26 EuroLeague and Stoiximan GBL journeys. An 18–9 record currently places them second in the EuroLeague, two games behind leader Fenerbahce Beko and 2.5 games clear of the Play-In Showdown zone. Domestically, their perfect 18–0 record maintains a commanding three-game lead over rival Panathinaikos.
