Barcelona has reportedly completed a major deal for the next season, having reached a pre-contract agreement with Zalgiris point guard Sylvain Francisco.

According to “Mundo Deportivo,” the EuroLeague member has reached a verbal agreement with the Zalgiris player, who is one of the best point guards this season and among the top players in the EuroLeague overall.

This deal was first reported by Italian journalist Alessandro Maggi a couple of weeks ago. According to “Mundo Deportivo” sources, the Frenchman already has a pre-contract agreement with Barca, though the deal is not yet definitively closed.

Francisco is leading Zalgiris this season, who are in the race for a EuroLeague playoff spot. The point guard is averaging 16.9 points, along with 6.5 assists and 3.1 rebounds, which gives him a 19.6 PIR.

After playing for three clubs in France, Francisco played for Manresa in Spain and Peristeri in Greece. His first EuroLeague team was Bayern Munich, from where he joined Zalgiris in 2024.

Misko Raznatovic denies the agreement

The Serbian agent, who represents Francisco, stated that no agreement has been reached with a post on X mentioning the report of Spanish website “Encastando” which speaks about a two-year deal.

“Never ending story with false infos, started with Obst – Dubai, and continued with Navarro- Bayern………Lets see whats the next big transfer by enimaginando….”

The player himself also denied the pre-contract report of “Mundo Deportivo” using a post of Eurohoops.
