The new CEO of the Euroleague, Chus Bueno, as part of his visit to Greece, met this morning in Athens with the President of the Organizing Committee for the “2026 EuroLeague Final Four Athens,” Dimitris Fragakis.
During the meeting, issues regarding the organizational preparation of the event were discussed, as well as broader aspects related to the development of basketball in Europe. Views were also exchanged on the future of the EuroLeague and Greece’s position within the European basketball environment.
The introductory meeting between the two men focused primarily on current organizational matters and the next steps for the Athens Final Four, which is scheduled to take place from May 22 to 24, 2026, at the Telecom Center Athens.
Furthermore, Dimitris Fragakis underlined to Mr. Bueno the great importance the Greek government attaches to the hosting and successful organization of the 2026 EuroLeague Final Four in Athens. He emphasized the commitment of all involved parties to contribute to the seamless execution of the event, as well as to strengthening the country’s credibility and reputation as a premier destination for hosting top-tier sporting events.
The meeting between the Euroleague CEO and the President of the Organizing Committee was also attended by the Committee’s Executive Director, Giorgos Mavrikis.
