Nando De Colo is one of the biggest signings of this EuroLeague season. The legendary French player returned to Fenerbahçe, the current champions, to contribute off the bench.
His veteran status and experience have made him a key player in Jasikevicius’ system in Istanbul. Fenerbahçe currently sits in first place with a 22-8 record.
He expressed to Arena Sport his idea that if Fenerbahçe wins the title, he would retire after this season. “I have a contract with Fenerbahçe until the end of the season. Right now, the only thing that matters to me is that the team achieves its two goals: winning the championship and advancing in the Euroleague. If we win the Euroleague… yes, then maybe I’ll retire. There’s a right time for everything in life”, De Colo explained.
De Colo, 38, is averaging 8.7 points while shooting a 42% from beyond the arc in 9 games in the Euroleague. The former ASVEL player is contributing from the bench.
He took the opportunity to talk about the parity at the top of the Euroleague standings. “Right now, at least six or seven teams are competing for a spot in the Final Four. The Playoffs will be a living hell”, he added.
