The filming of the feature-length fiction film “Import”, directed by Paul Shkordoff, has begun at locations across Belgrade, with KK Belgrade getting the spotlight.

“Import” is a Canadian-French-Serbian co-production, created in collaboration with the Serbian club, which also plays a significant role in the film itself.

The film tells the story of an American basketball player, Danny Ingram, who, after a serious shoulder injury, finds himself in Belgrade without a contract and in what seems like a hopeless situation.

However, thanks to his passion for the sport, he tries in various ways and ultimately succeeds at KK Partizan to prove himself, to revive his once very promising career, and returns to play at the highest level.

“Import” is a cinematic fairytale about the spirit of sport, love for basketball, the sacrifices it demands, as well as perseverance and belief in one’s dreams.

Thanks to the collaboration with KK Partizan and the EuroLeague, the film crew will shoot certain scenes during several home games that KK Partizan will play at the Belgrade Arena in this year’s EuroLeague season: against Valencia Basket (March 27), Zalgiris (April 10), and Baskonia (April 16).

The filmmakers, led by director Paul Shkordoff, chose Serbia and KK Partizan because of the country’s rich and internationally recognized basketball tradition.

The international cast is joined by several well-known Serbian actors, including Miloš Timotijević, Boris Isaković, Luka Grbić, Miloš Milaković, and others.

The director’s previous short film, “Benjamin, Benny, Ben” (2020), had its world premiere in the Official Selection of the Cannes Film Festival, and was also screened at the Toronto International Film Festival and many others.

The premiere of “Import” is expected in the first half of 2027, and the film will also have a theatrical release in Serbia.
