Barcelona secured a victory in the 33rd round of the EuroLeague, defeating Anadolu Efes 78-71 in front of their home fans.
Will Clyburn had a very good game for the Catalans, finishing with 21 points and five rebounds. Tornike Shengelia added 14, while Jan Vesely also reached double figures with ten points. For the visitors, Ercan Osmani scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds, P.J. Dozier had 13 points, and Nick Weiler-Babb contributed 11 points.
The hosts maintained a lead for most of the game and seemed poised for a drama-free victory. However, Efes made a comeback, reducing the deficit to just three points (74-71) with 36 seconds remaining. Still, they couldn’t defend against the crucial attack, as Clyburn drew a foul, made both free throws, and the home team ultimately secured the win.
Barcelona achieved their second consecutive EuroLeague victory and now has a 19-14 record, facing a battle for the playoffs as they share the same record with Zalgiris, Monaco, and Panathinaikos, with Crvena Zvezda potentially joining the list. In the next round, Xavi Pascual’s team will host Zvezda on Friday.
On the other hand, Anadolu Efes has long been out of contention for advancing and now holds a 10-23 record. In the next round, the Turks will travel to face Real Madrid in two days.
