Chima Moneke dominates for Crvena Zvezda to secure EuroLeague MVP honors

Chima Moneke has been named Most Valuable Player of Round 33 in the 2025-26 EuroLeague Regular Season.

Euroleague Basketball formally confirmed the 30-year-old Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet forward as the latest MVP of the Round on Thursday.

Per the press release: Chima Moneke kept Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade in the hunt for a top-six finish with a dominant overtime on the road at Kosner Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz. As an added bonus, the athletic big man earned the title of Round 33 MVP. This marks his second MVP of the Round this season and the fifth of his EuroLeague career.

Moneke posted 22 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 1 block in in Crvena Zvezda’s 100-108 victory. He had 8 points, 3 boards, a dish and a key rejection in the overtime session to help lock down the win. Moneke racked up a PIR of 32, which was the highest of all players in winning teams in the round.

The highest PIR of the round belonged to a player on the losing side in that game. Trent Forrest tied a Baskonia single-game record by making 15 free throws without a miss en route to a career-high 31 points. Forrest also dished 4 dimes, stole the ball twice and recorded a pair of memorable rejections in compiling a PIR of 36.

Dzanan Musa of Dubai Basketball matched Moneke’s PIR, but was also on the wrong side of the result as his team registered a 104-107 loss against Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens. Musa finished the game with 31 points on 4-of-4 two-point shooting, 5-of-7 on three-pointers and 8-of-9 free throws plus 3 assists for a PIR of 32.

Rounding out the top performers of the round were Elie Okobo of AS Monaco and his fellow Frenchman Nando De Colo of Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul. Okobo led AS Monaco to a 90-85 home win over EA7 Emporio Armani Milan with 16 points and a career-high 13 assists for a PIR of 28. De Colo amassed a PIR of 26 in his team’s 94-89 loss against Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv. He scored a season-high 26 points in the loss.

Individual highs: Shaquille Harrison, ASVEL, 5 steals

Musa and Forrest tied for the Round 33 scoring crown with 31 points apiece. Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens’s Kendrick Nunn leads the league with 19.5 points per game.

Mario Hezonja of Real Madrid and Oscar da Silva of FC Bayern Munich each had 10 rebounds in the round. Nikola Milutinov of Olympiacos Piraeus leads the season-long charts with 7.1 boards per night.

Codi Miller-McIntyre of Crvena Zvezda reached double digits in dimes for the third straight game as he dished 13 assists on Wednesday to raise his league-best average to 7.4 per game.

Shaquille Harrison of LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne collected 5 steals in his team’s 79-78 road loss against Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade. Aleksa Avramovic of Dubai sits atop the steals charts with 1.5 steals per night.

Six players had 2 blocks apiece in Round 33: Azuolas Tubelis of Zalgiris Kaunas, Trey Lyles of Real Madrid, Oshae Brissett of Maccabi, Bruno Caboclo of Dubai and the Baskonia duo of Trent Forrest and Clement Frisch. Walter Tavares of Real Madrid is ahead of everyone else at 2.0 blocks per game.

Okobo (16 points, 13 assists). Hezonja (15 points, 10 assists) and Da Silva (12 points, 10 assists) each registered a double-double in this round.”
