Bayern Munich beat EuroLeague leaders Fenerbahce

Fenerbahce BEKO’s slump continues as Bayern Munich got the 85-76 home win against the defending champions by closing the game the right way.

Neno Dimitrijevic, with 22 points, was the top scorer of the hosts, Justinian Jessup added 16, Andreas Obst had 14, and Xavier Rathan-Mayes closed the night also in double digits with 11.

After this result, Bayern improved to a 15-20 record, with no chances to make it to the play-in tournament, while Fenerbahce dropped to 23-12.

Coach Sarunas Jasikevicius’s unit is still at the top of the standings, but feeling the pressure from Olympiacos and Real Madrid, both of which are currently at 22-12.

Tarik Biberovic with 21 points and Talen Horton-Tucker with 13 were the leading scorers of Fenerbahce.

It has to be noted that Fenerbahce scored the first two points of the game, and after that, Bayern never trailed. On the contrary, the hosts led by 20 (43-23), and the halftime score was 43-30.

Fenerbahce closed the gap to three points (79-76) with 41 seconds left, but couldn’t score after that, and the last home game of the season for Bayern ended on a high note.
