Duško Vujošević, a towering figure in Serbian and European basketball, has died at the age of 67, Serbian media report.

Vujošević had struggled with serious health issues for several years, including a kidney transplant last year and recent complications involving his heart and lungs.

While he coached across Europe—including stints at CSKA Moscow, Limoges, and various Italian clubs—he is most famous for his era-defining tenure at Partizan Belgrade.

Under his leadership, the club dominated regional basketball, played EuroLeague Final Four in 2010 and became a factory for NBA and EuroLeague talent. He also served as the national team head coach for Serbia and Montenegro, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Vujošević leaves behind a massive legacy as one of the sport’s most respected tacticians and most successful coaches in the history of the Balkans.

European and Serbian basketball has lost one of its most passionate minds and devoted teachers. Dusko Vujosevic was a man of basketball, a mentor, and a symbol of integrity and dedication to the game. His influence shaped generations of players and coaches, leaving an indelible mark on our sport. On behalf of Euroleague Basketball, I extend my deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege to learn from him. His legacy will live on in every court, every team, and every young player who carries forward his love for basketball,” stated Euroleague Basketball President, Dejan Bodiroga.
