Zalgiris defeats Fenerbahce in a thriller and secures Game 4

Zalgiris achieved a great victory in Kaunas, as they defeated Fenerbahce in the third game of the EuroLeague Quarterfinal series with a score of 81-78, extending this exciting series.

Azuolas Tubelis was outstanding with 26 points, Nigel Williams-Goss added 18, Sylvain Francisco contributed 12, along with eight assists and six rebounds, while Moses Wright also scored in double digits with 11.

On the other side, Wade Baldwin was the best with 16 points, Talen Horton-Tucker added 15, Devon Hall scored 14, while Tarik Biberovic finished the game with 10.

Current European champion had the opportunity to wrap everything up in the first game in Kaunas, but in the end, they fell after a thriller, so we will see game number four on Friday.

Fenerbahce opened the match brilliantly, already achieving a huge 27-12 lead with a 14-0 run at the end of the first and the beginning of the second quarter. However, by halftime, the hosts managed to get back into the game with a series of three-pointers and a great dunk by Sylvain Francisco, so the guests went into halftime with only a seven-point lead (42-35).

Jasikevicius’ team held the advantage until the middle of the last quarter, when Zalgiris made a 15-4 run and managed to turn the score in their favor (74-72). The decision came in a tense finish, where the hosts managed to maintain the lead with good free-throw shooting, thus achieving a win and narrowing the series to 2-1.

The fourth duel will be played on Friday, also in Kaunas.
