Newly crowned EuroLeague champion, Olympiacos, is already thinking about defending the crown next season.
With Jean Montero finalizing his deal with the Greeks, Eurohoops sources confirmed that there’s also a deal in place with Codi Miller-McIntyre.
The teammate of EuroLeague MVP Sasha Vezenkov in the Bulgarian national team has agreed with the Reds on a three-year contract (2+1), which will pay him around 2M euros per season.
Olympiacos intends to boost its backcourt with 31-year-old Miller-McIntyre and 23-year-old Montero. At the same time, Thomas Walkup still has a contract with the team, and also NBA veteran Cory Joseph is welcome to stay.
Joseph, a key mid-season addition for Olympiacos, has to accept a secondary role, mainly in the EuroLeague, where there’s no nationality limit on the roster.
After all, the 34-year-old Joseph and the 33-year-old Walkup were the only point guards on the active roster for the EuroLeague final, proof of coach Giorgos Bartzokas trust in them.
The advanced talks between Miller-McIntyre and Olympiacos were first reported by “Sport24.gr”.
