Anadolu Efes will have to continue the season without injured big man Vincent Poirier.

The French center was injured during Game 1 of the BSL semifinals against Fenerbahce, and the news about his condition is bad.

Per the press release: “Treatment of Vincent Poirier, who suffered an injury in the Achilles tendon area during the match we played yesterday vs Fenerbahce Beko, has been started immediately.

Our doctor, Uğur Diliçıkık, has stated that our player, who will undergo surgery, will be off the courts for 8-9 months.”

This is another big blow for Anadolu Efes, which started the season with Greek center Giorgos Papagiannis also injured and sidelined for an extended period. Both Papagiannis and now Poirier will not be able to help the team during the Turkish BSL playoffs.
