After four years, the general assembly of the EuroLeague Head Coaches Board voted for the new president and the new vice-president.

Xavi Pascual is the new president of the EHCB, with Sergio Scariolo taking over as vice-president, replacing former president Dimitris Itoudis and former vice-president Giannis Sfairopoulos.

Per the press release: “The general assembly of the EuroLeague Head Coaches Board voted for the new president and vice-president, with former president Dimitris Itoudis and former vice-president Ioannis Sfairopoulos being succeeded by new president Xavi Pascual and new vice-president Sergio Scariolo.

The vote was unanimous as the EHCB once more confirmed their vision for the future and the will to stay a unifying voice in European basketball.

“In the four years that I was president and Giannis the vice-president, we succeeded in building on the foundation laid by founding president Zeljko Obradovic and founding vice-president Pablo Laso, expanding the EuroLeague Head Coaches Board and empowering our voice even more”, said Dimitris Itoudis in his farewell message as president, “with eight years of important work, that has been made, we as EHCB are ready to go to next step and agree with Euroleague to some major changes”.

“I am proud of what we have achieved with Dimitris, and with the help of all our members, we will continue with all our forces to support our Board, and we feel that we are leaving EHCB in a good place and in good hands,” added Ioannis Sfairopoulos.

New president Xavi Pascual is ready to work: “I want to thank all my predecessors and promise that we will continue their work that made EHCB one of the main stakeholders in the European basketball ecosystem”.

New vice-president Sergio Scariolo stressed this message even more: “We as coaches have an obligation not only to our teams and our players, but to the sport in general, to continue the progress made so far and continue to be a strong voice that will benefit basketball, which is entering a very interesting era”.
