As previously reported by Eurohoops, Austin Wiley has officially joined Bayern Munich, signing a three-year contract with the German club.
The 27-year-old center arrives after two seasons with Hapoel Jerusalem, where he established himself as one of Europe’s top rebounders. Last season, he averaged 10.4 points and a EuroCup-best 9.5 rebounds, while also ranking second in the competition with 1.5 blocks per game.
Before his stint in Israel, Wiley played for Tofaş Bursa and Neptūnas Klaipėda, leading both the Turkish and Lithuanian leagues in rebounding. He was also named Turkish League MVP in the 2023-24 season after averaging 15.2 points and 10.1 rebounds.
“I’m very excited to play for this historic club,” Wiley said. “I want to be the team’s defensive anchor in every game and control the paint. I’m confident I can help this team with my defense and scoring.”
Bayern head coach Anton Gavel added: “Austin will give us tremendous defensive presence. He rebounds at a high level, protects the rim, and has already proven himself in the EuroCup. We believe he can also make an offensive impact.”
