Milan is keeping one of the key members of their Italian core on the roster.
Per the press release: Olimpia Milano has reached an agreement for a multi-year contract extension with Stefano Tonut.
“I’m excited and motivated to continue competing for this jersey and these colors,” Tonut says. “This new project is incredibly exciting. All the right ingredients are in place to continue building something important. I’ll try to contribute alongside my teammates, continuing the success we’ve achieved in recent years. After a hard season for multiple reasons, I’m eager to reclaim my success on the court and get back to enjoying doing what I love. I’d also like to thank the owners, Coach Peppe Poeta, Christos Stavropoulos, and Daniele Baiesi for supporting me throughout the season. After seven years in Venezia, continuing another long journey with a club like Olimpia Milano is a great testament of respect for me, not only as a player, but also as a person. And it’s one of the things that makes me proud. Finally, I want to thank the fans once again for their continued support.”
Stefano Tonut, born in Cantù on November 7, 1993, is a 1.94 meters tall guard who arrived in Milan in the summer of 2022 after seven seasons with Reyer Venezia. In his four years at Olimpia, he won three league championships, one Italian Cup, and two Super Cups. Since joining Milano, he has played 151 Italian league games with 613 points scored.
