Agustin Ubal inks a three-year contract to return to FC Barcelona. The deal was announced on Friday.
The agreement binds the Uruguayan talent to the Blaugrana shirt until the end of the 2028โ29 season.

Because he arrived at the club in the summer of 2019 at age 16, he holds local youth player status alongside an Italian passport.

โFor me it is a pleasure to be able to return. Since I left, I have always dreamed of this moment. I have worked a lot, and I am pleased, eager to start and face this challenge properly,โ Ubal welcomed the reunion with the Catalonia powerhouse.
The Montevideo native debuted with the senior Uruguayan national team at just 17, en route to participating in the FIBA AmeriCup 2022. At Barca, he developed at the junior level before earning his official first-team debut under Sarunas Jasikevicius during the 2021-22 season. He recorded brief appearances in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and Liga Endesa before embarking on various loan assignments.
Leaving Kids&Us Manresa, previously known as BAXI Manresa, he was released from his contract upon the payment of a buyout clause.

He logged 17 BKT Eurocup appearances there last season, tallying 11.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 0.7 steals per game en route to bouncing back in the top tier of Euroleague Basketball. Across five ACB teams, he accumulated 129 domestic games, averaging 9.6 points and 3.4 rebounds this past year.
Ubal especially remembers the courageous decision to leave his country. โI left my family in Uruguay to come to a club that has given me everything, academically and athletically,โ he explained. โI was able to be in the first team for a season, and that pushed me to know where I wanted to be. Elsewhere, I have continued to grow as an athlete, and now I come more prepared for the challenge.โ
Reflecting on his journey, he assures that this return comes after a lot of work. โI have always told my family that I wanted to return,โ he stressed. โPhysically, I have taken a step forward and gained experience.โ
He reinforces a revamped roster this offseason that also features new signings Umoja Gibson, Josh Nebo, Justin Robinson, and Olivier Nkamhoua.
