Valencia Basket have submitted an offer to sign Eli Ndiaye, with the former Real Madrid academy product now close to returning to Spain after spending last season in the NBA G League.
According to Sergio Llebrés and confirmed by Gigantes del Basket, Valencia made the offer on Saturday, while Real Madrid were officially notified a day later. As Ndiaye is subject to Spain’s right-of-first-refusal system, Madrid have until Friday, July 24 at 11:59 p.m. to match the proposal and retain the 22-year-old forward.
Ndiaye struggled for playing time with the College Park Skyhawks, the G League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks, but remains an attractive option on the Spanish market thanks to his domestic player status, youth, and previous EuroLeague experience with Real Madrid.
Following the departures of Jaime Pradilla, Braxton Key and Matt Costello, Valencia are looking to strengthen the power forward position, with Ndiaye emerging as one of their primary targets.
