Nigerian center Kaodirichi Akobundu-Ehiogu is close to joining Zalgiris Kaunas.

According to Spanish journalist Chema de Lucas, the center will strengthen the Lithuanian team, which will have to pay a buyout clause to Cedevita Olimpija. The former Manresa center had signed with Cedevita Olimpija but had an exit clause for the EuroLeague until the end of the month.

Jonas Valanciunas has already arrived at Zalgiris in the center position, so Ehiogu will be his replacement after Moses Wright left Lithuania.

The Nigerian completed his college career in 2023 but was not drafted. He started his European journey in Tubingen, then moved to Varese, and last season he played for Manresa.
