Rebuilding LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne tabs Joel Bolomboy for the next two seasons.
The deal was announced on Tuesday, finalized after a period of speculation regarding the veteran’s destination.
Since early July, when Eurohoops first reported the 32-year-old forward-center’s readiness to commit to the French EuroLeague organization, subsequent rumors linked him to other clubs, including Unicaja. The 2.03-meter powerhouse ultimately formalized his relocation to Villeurbanne.

This interior dominance traces back to his development at Weber State, where he forged a reputation defined by explosive athleticism, fierce rebounding tenacity, and lethal finishing around the rim. After translating these traits into early stints across the NBA and G-League, the veteran seamlessly transitioned his game to Europe’s most demanding environments, accumulating 204 appearances in the continent’s premier competition. His trophy-laden trajectory features a EuroLeague crown with CSKA in 2019 alongside two VTB United League titles, a domestic double with Olympiacos in 2023, and a dominant span in Belgrade with Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet that brought several more trophies.
Bolomboy’s proven track record of rapid integration, intellectual acumen, and consummate professionalism makes him a foundational piece for the upcoming 2026–27 campaign.
