Shaquille O’Neal will be among the special guests at Zalgirio Arena when Zalgiris Kaunas hosts Olympiacos Piraeus in its first home game of the 2026-27 EuroLeague season.
The NBA legend will travel to Lithuania at the end of September after becoming a global ambassador for NordVPN, the Lithuanian-founded cybersecurity company officially announced.
O’Neal is scheduled to appear at an exclusive press conference in Vilnius before making the trip to Kaunas for the EuroLeague matchup on September 29.
“It is incredibly exciting to welcome a global icon of this stature to Zalgirio Arena. Shaquille O’Neal is not only a basketball player with an exceptional and decorated career, but also someone who has inspired generations of young basketball players,” Zalgiris president Paulius Jankunas said. “I have no doubt that the opening of the EuroLeague season in Kaunas will be special both on and off the court, and Shaquille O’Neal’s presence will make the evening truly unforgettable.”
The 54-year-old O’Neal won four NBA championships during his illustrious career and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016.
