The Serbian basketball federation released the answer of Euroleague to the letter send by the federation about the conflict that rages in the European basketball.

The letter, signed by Euroleague CEO Jordi Bertomeu, mentions among other things: “We are very disappointed and surprised that the conflict created by FIBA, with the sole aim of controlling professional club competition, ended with sanctions against national federations which have never had a stake in this case, nor have they been responsible for this. It is also disappointing to see that sports values are not taken into account… I do not believe that the differences between FIBA and the Euroleague are insurmountable. We have demonstrated the ability to co-operation over many years and will continue to do so in the future. With this in mind, we repeatedly asked FIBA, instead of threats clubs and national federations, to talk and work together for the benefit of basketball…We do not plan to make decisions that could be prejudicial to relations between clubs and federations, and we will remain open to dialogue and search for a solution based on mutual respect and for the benefit of basketball”.
