Real Madrid will be signing American point guard Chasson Randle, according to Gigantes Del Basket.

Randle, 24, will cover the gap left in the “Blancos” backcourt following the injury of 2017 EuroLeague MVP Sergio Llull who is expected to return to courts no sooner than March 2018.

The graduate of Stanford University played 26 matches last year in the NBA with the Philadelphia 76ers and the New York Knicks, finishing the season with the latter. He averaged 5.3 points, 1.3 assists, and 1.3 rebounds in 11.5 minutes per game.

He carries some experience of European basketball, since he spent the first season of his professional career, in 2015-2016, with Nymburk in the Czech Republic.

Randle becomes the third foreign (without EU passport) player in the Spaniards’ squad, so now Real has to remove either Gustavo Ayon (Mexico) or Trey Thompkins (USA) from its Spanish League active roster in order to open a spot for him, per the ACB rules.
