Doncic: “This may or may not be my last season”

It’s pretty much an established fact now. Luka Doncic is by far the hottest European prospect and a player projected to be selected even with the no. 1 pick int he 2018 NBA Draft.

This can wait though since the 18-year-old Slovenian point forward focuses his attention on the new EuroLeague season that is beginning tomorrow (12/10) and the much more significant role he’s expected to carry on the court.

“Ι’ll be more important than last year, especially because of Sergio Llull’s injury. But apart from that, I don’t look to the future. I’m with Real Madrid where I feel better than anywhere else. This may be my last season. May not. I can’t say,” Doncic said in an interview with Spanish AS.

Llull, the 2017 EuroLeague MVP, won’t be back earlier than March and this might mean that Doncic will assume even leadership duties. Perhaps even be the one tasked with taking the last, game-winning attempt.

“It depends. I cannot say what will happen but I do feel very good as a team leader. I want to take it (the team) as far as I can. That’s why I’m here, to help my team.”
