As the second rookie to become the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague MVP of the Round this season, Baskonia Vitoria Gasteiz big man Vincent Poirier claimed the honor in style on Friday. His 2 free throws with 3.1 seconds left lifted Baskonia to an 81-82 road win against Anadolu Efes Istanbul in a comeback that his fingerprints were all over. Poirier finished with a performance index rating of 35, tops among all players the round, and 15 of that total came in the game’s last 5 minutes, 35 seconds, when Baskonia rallied from 76-67 behind to win.
