Barcelona has set its sights on signing French international shooting guard Edwin Jackson, according to Gigantes Del Basket.

Jackson, 28, was cut by Chinese club Guangdong Southern Tigers earlier this month. He had previously played with Barcelona in 2014-2015.

In order for the deal to be finalized, Barcelona must first come to an agreement with Estudiantes that holds the player’s rights in Spain and can match any offer made to him by another ACB team according to the rules of “Tanteo”. If Jackson returns to the “Blaugrana” he will become the team’s fourth French player, joining Thomas Heurtel, Kevin Seraphin, and Adrien Moerman.

Jackson won top scorer honors in the Spanish League with Estudiantes in 2016-2017, after averaging 21 points per game.

Barcelona has also been on the lookout for a center, given Seraphin’s injury and the delays in his estimated recovery. The team is 7 – 12 in EuroLeague and in danger of missing the playoffs and comes from an upset in Liga Endesa to Andorra that dropped them to the third place with 11-6.
