Zalgiris Kaunas didn’t have a chance against a more superior Baskonia.

Sarunas Jasikevicus’ team is now one win under the fourth spot that secures the home court advantage and the Lithuanian coach knows why: “I don’t look much at the standings, believe me or not. The important thing is to win. I think my players look at it a lot because our level is lower now. The key in this Euroleague is to win without thinking on the other teams”.

Baskonia could go to the Final Four and it wouldn’t be a surprise. No team from the Top 4 wants to face Baskonia in the playoffs. I don’t know if they will want Zalgiris but first, we have to qualify“, Jasikevicius added.

He also had some words on Kevin Pangos: “He is having a great season but he hasn’t managed to handle that pressure today. The teams know that he is one of the best Euroleague players and they go for him“.

On the other hand, head coach Pedro Martinez talked about how they handle injury problems: “The injured players shouldn’t be a reason for mourning. It’s a reason to prop up opportunities. That’s the first objective. The second is not to look for heroes. Nobody has to play the role of the players who aren’t available. We played more concentrated, as a team“.
