After an incredible battle, CSKA Moscow is in the Final Four after defeating Khimki Moscow Region in Game 4 of the playoffs. Head coach Dimitris Itoudis was happy about this accomplishment of the Russian team.

“This is very important for the club, the seven straight Final Four appearances. I have to congratulate our opponents, they played great basketball and have the full respect from me and everyone in CSKA. Regarding the game, we witnessed two different halves and a thrilling end. We were dominant and decisive in the beginning. The first half belonged to us. In the third quarter, we were up by 17 points, but Khimki made a great comeback with defense when we were indecisive. We found the way defensively and offensively to remain in the team and won the game in the clutch. I also want to thank the president for his speech, it was essential and he helped us. We were united. It’s not easy for any team to play without two significant players in the playoffs.. the congratulations go to everybody. Many of our players stepped up. They showed character and helped the team. We will try to heal our injuries and keep going.”

Finally, he also stated that CSKA was the better team in this series: “We were the better team, we deserved to win this series while playing against a great opponent.”
